These events will bring together faculty, students, and film producers as part of the “International Week 2017” organized by the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. We will feature Mitchel Teplitsky, Director; Doris Loayza, Associate Producer, “Soy Andina II, the return;” and Guillermo Trejo, Professor Department of Political Science, Kellogg Institute Faculty Fellow.The Andean countries have been characterized as transitioning from authoritarian regimes to more open democratic systems. For a while the region was consider on a process of “democratic consolidation.” More recent studies inquiry the “quality of democracy” in the region.
