The White Card: A Dramatic Reading of the New Play by Claudia Rankine

-

Location: Hesburgh Center for International Studies Auditorium

The White Card, the latest play from Claudia Rankine, follows a conversation at a dinner party thrown by Virginia and Charles, an influential Manhattan couple, for up-and-coming artist Charlotte. Their conversation raises questions about race, identity and more.

This dramatic reading of this new play is a joint production of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and the University of Notre Dame’s Film, Theater and Television department. The reading will build on input from P. Carl, dramaturg for the 2018 world premiere of The White Card at the Emerson Cutler Memorial Theater in Boston and the Kroc Institute’s 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.

An interactive conversation will follow the reading.
