New York Times bestselling author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will hold a book signing on Saturday, March 26, from 3 to 4 p.m., at the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore. Attendees may bring books from their personal libraries or purchase copies on site.
Adichie is a MacArthur Genius Grant winner and is known for books such as Half of a Yellow Sun, Purple Hibiscus, Americanah, and We Should All Be Feminists, which was translated into 32 languages and based on her 2012 TED Talk. Her novels have garnered acclaims such as the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Orange Prize, and the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award. Her most recent work is Notes on Grief, "an exquisite work of meditation, remembrance, and hope," written in the wake of her father’s death in the summer of 2020.
This event is a follow-up to An Evening with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a free but ticketed event on Friday, March 25, where the author will share some of her new work and engage in conversation with Notre Dame faculty and students. Adichie's visit is presented by the Sr. Kathleen Cannon, O.P. Distinguished Lecture Series.
