Location: Notre Dame Rome

Voices of Persuasion: Women Writers and Rhetoric in Early Modern Italy explores how women writers in Renaissance Italy (1500–1600) engaged with rhetorical strategies and theory in their literary works. The conference invites scholars to examine women’s roles in rhetorical theory, their use of rhetorical forms, and how their contributions shaped early modern intellectual culture. The event will conclude with a keynote lecture by Prof. Julia Hairston (Roma Tre).
