CALL FOR PAPERS

Through Gendered Lenses—An Undergraduate Academic Journal in Gender Research and Scholarship

Through Gendered Lenses Poster 2012/1

Through Gendered Lenses is a student-organized academic journal created with the purpose of fostering research in the broad field of Gender Studies and highlighting excellent gender-related work being done by Notre Dame undergraduate students across the university.  We welcome submissions from all disciplines.  Submissions must focus on gender-related topics, including but not limited to, sexuality, religion, the family, media, health, economics, culture, and violence.

Submissions must represent original scholarship by the author or be the result of research conducted by the author within the twelve months prior to January 31, 2012.  This could include a class assignment, independent research, or a paper based on a senior thesis.  Papers should be 10-40 double-spaced pages in a 12-point font.

Students must submit papers by emailing them to gender@nd.edu in .doc format by January 31, 2012 at 5:00pm.  The email should include the undergraduate student’s name, the title of the paper, the department to which it was submitted (if applicable), the date that the research and writing were completed, and the name of any other publication in which submission is being considered.

The Journal’s editorial board, which is comprised of members of the Gender Studies Honors Society, will evaluate all submissions.  It will select the most outstanding papers and/or artistic works that represent gender scholarship across disciplines and departments.  Authors of the selected submissions will be notified in mid February, and their work be published in the hard copy of the Journal in April.  We look forward to receiving your submissions!

Best Wishes,

The Gender Studies Honors Society
