Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Barbara Green, Professor of English, has agreed to serve as the next Director of the Program in Gender Studies for a three year term beginning in July 2021. Barbara is an accomplished scholar of gender and modernism, with a special interest in feminist print culture in Britain. She has been an active member of the Gender Studies Program and served a previous term as director in 1998-2001. Please join me in thanking the outgoing director, Mary Celeste Kearney of the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre, for her tireless service and strong commitment to growing the program. Please also join me in congratulating Barbara on her return to office. I look forward to working with her in the coming years.
