Gender is a consequential and ubiquitous aspect of human life that needs much additional formal analysis and discussion. Taking courses specifically addressing gender in various areas better equips me to examine and take gender into account in my individual research, and being in a community of individuals who all see the importance of gender provides opportunities for constructive and challenging dialogue.
