Wed Sep 12, 2018 7:00PM - 9:00PM

Nd Unfiltered Final Poster

From Student Government and Show Some Skin comes an event aimed at helping connect students to vital university resources and organizations. Combining the best of Show Some Skin stories with a crucially important discussion component, Notre Dame: Unfiltered will share stories of identity and direct students to the many resources regarding race, socioeconomic status, sexual violence, mental health, faith, and LGBTQ+ life at Notre Dame. The mission of Notre Dame: Unfiltered is to recognize the dignity of every human person and engage in a dialogue about subjects which affect students every day, encouraging understanding and solidarity across lines of division.

Notre Dame: Unfiltered will take place on 12 September 2018 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Lafortune Student Center Ballroom. A valid Student ID will be required to enter. Food and drink will be served at no charge.

The program, comprised of four thirty-minute segments, will consist of Show Some Skin monologues performed in years past and discussion facilitated by student leaders. The topics addressed will include race, socioeconomic status, sexual violence, mental health, faith, and LGBTQ+ life. Student leaders, drawn from organizations and clubs dedicated to providing support for students whom these topics affect, will facilitate small-group discussions among peers and answer anonymously submitted questions in front of the entire audience. Discussion will address the subject matter of the performed Show Some Skin monologues, campus climate, and available campus resources. All undergraduate students, especially first-year students, are invited and encouraged to attend.

Notre Dame: Unfiltered is sponsored by Student Government, Show Some Skin, First Year of Studies, Gender Relations Center, Multicultural Student Programs and Services, Office of Student Enrichment, Office of Merit Scholarships, PrismND, Student Coalition for Immigration Advocacy, Diversity Council, Active Minds, Muslim Student Association, Men Against Sexual Violence, Hall Presidents Council, BridgeND, and Gender Studies Program.
