Majors/Minors: Marketing, Gender Studies
Gender Studies has allowed me to learn about topics that are 'invisible' at Notre Dame. ND says that it has a diverse student body and that they foster discussions about all topics, but lots of issues I have learned about in Gender Studies are not discussed at Notre Dame. I know so much more about sexuality (not just LGBT issues but human sexuality as a whole) and gender now and feel that I am much more prepared going forward in my career. I know that in marketing I will have to make gendered assumptions but knowing that there is more that connects humans and knowing that gender and sexuality isn't black and white makes me unique in my field and helps me to bring a unique perspective.
