Sonja Stojanovic is Assistant Professor of French. She specializes in 20th- and 21st-century French literature and culture. She is currently working on a project which looks at the gendered representation of precarious workers in contemporary French fiction.

She has a longstanding interest in contemporary women’s writing and has written articles focusing on questions of maternal grief, representations of motherhood, and the place of cleaning ladies in contemporary fiction in French.

She is an associate member of the Center for the Study of Contemporary Women’s Writing (UK), where she compiles information for the author-page of Lydie Salvayre.
