Carthaginians

-

Location: Washington Hall Lab Theatre

“Carthaginians” is set in Northern Ireland during the Troubles and explores the intersection of gender, sexuality and politics across cultural trauma. It was the first show produced at the Abbey Theatre, Ireland's national  theatre, that included or considered homosexuality in any substantial way. The Director is Joshua Whitaker who is an English and Gender Studies major with an Irish Studies minor, and this production is part of his Irish Studies capstone. It is a context-specific performance that explores universals: the agency one has in performing identity and how that relates to healing.

It opens in Washington Hall Lab Theatre. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 otherwise.

Thursday, March 21 - 7:30p.m.
