Vicki Ruiz is ILS’ 2019 Distinguished Visiting Scholar for the annual Young Scholars Symposium. Ruiz is a Distinguished Professor Emerita of history and Chicano/Latino Studies, at UC Irvine and currently a scholar-in-residence at Occidental College’s Institute for the Study of Los Angeles. Ruiz has contributed to the reshaping of U.S. women’s history, labor history, immigration studies, and history of the U.S. West. This event is free and open to the public.
