I took an Intro to Gender Studies course in my freshman year, loved it, and decided to take another course. I became interested in how we ended up where we are today and what could be done in respects to gender, but ended up with a much broader view than I thought I would. With how far reaching studying gender can be, I took classes covering topics that I wouldn't have otherwise. I got to see how gender interacted with other nations, in communities that I previously did not have much knowledge about, and in our personal lives. Studying Gender Studies was an integral part of my time at Notre Dame and the curiosity that drives me to see and understand gender in different contexts is a skill I will carry into the future.
