As a Gender Studies minor I have developed the ability to articulate well-constructed ideas and arguments with a consciousness in history, learned or formulated, with the set goals for better gender relations here on Notre Dame's campus. With my Theology Major and Gender Studies minor I have seen the importance of restructuring my language and I pay closer attention to my word choice, my research, my acceptances and rejections when speaking about my feminine experiences and learning about another's experiences. I developed the ability to apply these psychoanalytical ideas to my personal work. While being a member of the Gender Relations Center, I also use my studies and incorporate them throughout campus to bring comfort among the awkward questions between genders, to develop better understandings in regards to gender issues, and to continue and facilitate healthy conversations.
