Majors/Minors: PhD Sociology with emphasis in Religion, Gender and Social Psychology, Graduate Minor in Gender Studies
I aim to study the intersection of religion, gender, and social psychological processes in my career as an academic. Since the Department of Sociology does not offer a focused program of study on gender, the Gender Studies Program helped me to tie these three main areas of interest together. The Graduate Minor in Gender Studies will be useful to me for finding a dual appointment in Sociology and Gender/Women's Studies once I am on the job market. My favorite part about being in the program is how many people I've met at Notre Dame exploring interesting and exciting;research pertinent to gender studies. The gamut of topics I've observed at the Gender Studies Workshops has been impressive. I never dreamed there were so many ways to study gender.
