Big congratulations to Mary Celeste Kearney, Associate Professor in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre and Director of Gender Studies Program, who will receive this year's Katherine Singer Kovács Essay Award from the Society for Cinema and media Studies (SCMS) for her essay,"Sparkle: Luminosity and Post-Girl Power Media," which appeared in Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies. The award will be announced formally on April 1 at the 2016 SCMS Conference in Atlanta.
