In addition to allowing me to study what I wanted, the Gender Studies program helped me get course credit for an amazing internship at EMILY's List in DC during the summer of 2018. My time at EMILY's List helping to elect incredible women throughout the country taught me so much about my future career and about the value of a Gender Studies education in the professional world. The internship was transformational for me, and it would not have been possible without the ND Gender Studies program. The Notre Dame Gender Studies program has allowed me to pursue my academic and professional interests in a way no other program could. I stumbled upon it after realizing that all my favorite History courses were cross-listed with Gender Studies, and I instantly fell in love with the possibility of studying gender across a wide array of disciplines. I love how the program allowed me to curate my college experience to fit my interests exactly.
