Research Workshops

Research Workshop

In order to advance the program’s commitment to inter-disciplinary research and inquiry into the subject of gender, the Gender Studies Program hosts an annual series of research workshops for our graduate students. The workshops involve presentations by graduate students from a variety of departments who work in the area of gender and sexuality.  In advance of each workshop, the presenter shares a copy of one work-in-progress (e.g., conference paper, dissertation chapter) with all GS graduate students.  That work is read closely by all workshop participants, so that the event functions as a rigorous seminar-style discussion with productive feedback on the presenter’s work. Each workshop is followed by a social gathering to build community among our graduate student community.

Workshops are held on Fridays from 4:00pm-5:00pm in 336 O’Shaughnessy Conference Room unless otherwise specified below.

If you would like to reserve a date for a presentation at one of the Research Workshops please contact one of our Research Workshop coordinators: Mayra Cano or Andrew (Jahan) Khajavipour

Please note that at the end of each semester one joint panel workshop will be held.  All of the presenters from that semester are required to attend this joint panel to discuss their progress with respect to their individual presentations.

Sponsored by the Marian Mullin Hancock Gender Studies Fund.
